Seattle’s Sky at Its Best

My friend’s family (Olena’s) and I went downtown Seattle on August 23, 2008… I happened to have my Rebel XTi with me so I ended up with a few nice shots. This is one of them.

For some reason I love this shot… it speaks to me personally… in a way… (I have my story behind it lol) That’s all I need since I do “photography”, first of all, for my own enjoyment and meaning!

Seattle is… *cough cough* rainy… and the sky like that is just a miracle. That day was amazing and I was simply lucky. Seriously.

Sometimes… I love running away to walk the streets of Seattle… I used to do that a lot last year… It always makes me feel unimportant… and yet… It’s strange, really… and it’s such a soothing, warm feeling… I can’t even explain it… I have many weird connections to things around me, seriously! The smallest little things have a meaning… yeah…

See? I get carried away in writing! Don’t ever let that happen… haha… ’cause it gets long… and I mean… long… lol

To Understand

I’m trying to understand… whether I’m trying too hard or not trying hard enough, I don’t know… but for some reason I can’t.

I’m trying to put a dividing line in my writing… between things the way they are and ways I want them to be… A sentence of reality follows after a sentence of a dream, which seems like a skewed truth to others… but makes perfect sense to me…

So if I write things others read should I write what I want to write or what they want to read? But if they read what I want to write and judge based on what they wanted to hear then how do I not get misunderstood if they don’t even know me?

Where’s the borderline of understanding what I’m trying to say and what I’m actually writing? Where do I go off with artistic writing and put in artistic emotions that aren’t really there in my heart? Where in a sound sarcasm do I put in a bit of truth?

How does one understand that without even knowing who I am? And how about the one who assumes and claims to know me? Am I the one to judge? Or will the writing be greatly misunderstood no matter what?

So to speak, there’s no way to understand. Because there’s just no way to read my writing the way I wrote it from my heart. I mean… who knows where goes the truth or some good writing skills instead? Maybe even this is just a myth… a masterpiece of “thoughts” in writing… a masterpiece of fake to pretend that I’m so smart and distant and depressed in some bizarre yet beautiful way?

Too many questions. Too many dots. Too many words. Too many repetitions. Too many. Too little. And all this is to understand a “simple” thread of “thoughts.”

I woke up today in the morning at… ummm… alright, I barely slept in the first place, but “technically-speaking” I woke up at 5:30am. Well, that’s when my alarm went off. I had some trouble to get out of my bed so I actually literally got up at 6:26. Had my quick breakfast, changed my clothes, brushed my teeth, and ran out of the house at 6:44 to catch my bus to school. I was running late so I didn’t even take a shower this morning.

My Government class started at 7:30. I was either going to fall asleep in that class or draw doodles on a piece of paper. I decided that drawing doodles on a piece of paper was a more peaceful option for my nerves since the last thing I wanted to dream of was politics and have Mr. Kreutz wake me up in his baritone voice… well, I don’t mind the deep, baritone voice, but I do mind a lunch detention that would follow up.

(How much I hate school if only anyone knew. Compared to college, it’s just stupid, I’m sorry.)

But even instead of doodles, however, I remembered that I needed to reply to a few messages that I got yesterday and I ended up txting on my phone through the whole class. When I was done writing, I realized that I should have better slept through than write what I wrote. If my phone was a piece of paper at that moment, I’d rip it in 20 halves and throw it in the garbage on my way out of class. Whatever, though. Knowing that my brain wasn’t functioning correctly due to some recent massive confusion in my heart, I just decided to go home.

I came home at 8:57. Took my shoes and backpack off. Grabbed my so-called boyfriend with me (my dog lol) and went back to sleep. So now, practically-speaking, I woke up at 11:21am…

A part of my white ceiling and a part of my bright burgundy wall was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes… I have no idea what hit my head this morning, but I just decided to photo blog about today.

Stretching on my bed, I looked to the left to find a stack of books and a few notebooks full of my boring thoughts. Besides the book on top, I honestly have not touched the rest three underneath it for probably about two weeks or so.

The books I’m reading are… interesting. Especially the “boys and girls” thematic ones. On that subject, I’m reading two books right now: Fascinating Womanhood by Helen Andelin and Wild at Heart by John Eldredge.

I’m halfway done with Wild at Heart and I must say it’s a good book. I know, I know. That book is addressed to men. (I’m so laughing right now!) But that’s the whole point. Written by men from a man in a Christian perspective. What?! I’m just expanding my knowledge! (I’m still laughing!! lol)

One of my favorite quotes is: “You do not need the woman for you to become a great man, and as a great man you do not need the woman.” And then he goes off explaining why: “…there is an even deeper issue than our question. What else is it we are seeking from the Woman with the Golden Hair? What is that ache we are trying to assuage with her? Mercy, comfort, beauty, ecstasy – in a word, God. I’m serious. What we are looking for is God” (pg. 115).

To that, I agree.

And then the third book I’m reading is Heroes: People Who Made a Difference in Our World by Harold Sala. It’s a very inspirational and thought-provoking book. Makes you want to be better. Definitely recommend for people who are going through some hard times in their lives. This book has helped me a lot to find a hero in my little faith. We all have a hero inside. It’s just that there are different heroes, too.

Of course, I finished it off with a couple chapters from the Bible. I needed that more than I wanted it, I admit.

The Phone

And then goes the phone story. As you can tell, I had a lot to read this morning, including the 15 new messages, which I got in just a few hours. Looks like I missed half of the lives of my friends.

Those who wrote me today… you folks, I’m so sorry… I just don’t feel like replying anybody today… especially to the closest people to my heart. I wrote back and forth with a few of my friends today, but that was about it. No phone for today. Anna is not here. I need my time off to think…

I love the status of my inbox and my outbox… and I deleted all of the messages today… right after the class… I’m just loving it… seriously…
